Lysaght Law traces its roots to 1950, when Brooklynite James Ignatius Lysaght graduated St. John’s University School of Law (back then SJU Law was in Brooklyn, too). Since that time, a Lysaght has continuously practiced law in New York State serving local, regional, national and international clients for almost 65 years.
We know the business landscape and understand the legal environment with experience in substantial litigations, transactions and legislations. Our clients know and rely upon our reputation of proven talent, intelligence, and hard work ethic.
We combine the technological advantages and depth of a larger firm with the cost advantages of a leaner, smaller firm. One of the main advantages of Lysaght Law is that we are able to offer our legal services at a better rate than larger firms because we do not carry the same costs and overhead.
Lawyers From a Landmark
Our offices are located in the New York City landmark Helmsley Building, which was built in 1929 as the New York Central Building, and was designed by Warren & Wetmore, the architects of Grand Central Terminal, in the Beaux-Arts style.
From there, we are often called upon to provide timely and trusted counsel by billion dollar companies, small businesses, nonprofits, entrepreneurs, families, and individuals with a wide variety of legal issues affecting their business or personal lives.
The Lysaght Law legal tradition provides a depth of knowledge and experience which allows us to see issues in context and to guide clients through the legal process to achieve practical, cost-effective results. Whatever the challenge, Lysaght Law strives to provide sound advice to help clients make the most of the present and prepare for the future.
